Why do we need trees?

Why do we need trees?  

First of all people and animals need trees because trees provide air so people and animals can breathe. Some animals need trees because they eat leaves if loggers cut down trees then the animals will suffocate, animals also live on trees like birds and squirrels if there weren't any trees then your destroying the animals inhabitants. Trees have been here for over thousands of years so don't destroy them.
